My name is Rhys Killin and I offer a friendly, professional boat safety examination service throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire. I am based in Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire on the Rochdale Canal and I am a liveaboard boater.
I have a diploma in Small Craft Surveying from Lloyds Maritime Academy and I am authorised to examine Boats as part of the Boat Safety Scheme.
I am also able to undertake most remedial work if your boat doesn’t pass first time as I have a vast experience working on all types of canal and river craft.
I am happy to carry out examinations at a mutually agreed time and place (including weekends). Should your boat not pass the initial examination I will return to recheck once you have carried out the necessary repairs completely free of charge within 1 month from the examination date.
I also carry with me a few spares including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, labels for fuel, gas and battery isolators, gas pipe clips, and straps for securing batteries. These are items that boats often fail on.
